There are many benefits to being a volunteer firefighter. Serving the community, learning new skills, helping others, and bonding with fellow members are just a few of the perks you'll experience.
The Company, located at 31 Pound Road, provides the manpower to the District. Those who wish to be active firefighters must be accepted into the Spring Brook Fire Company, prior to joining the District. Membership requirements include: being a resident of the district for a minimum of 6 months or employed within the district at least 8 hours a day and able to answer calls, being at least 18 years of age, and able to pass a background investigation and physical exam.
There are several benefits to being a member of the Spring Brook Fire Company and Fire District.
They include:
New members to the Spring Brook Fire District are on a 6-month probation period. Within the first year of membership, completing the Basic Exterior Firefighter Class (BEFO) is required. All training is provided free to the member. Members are required to attend a minimum number of drills every year, and pass an annual physical.
Members in the Spring Brook Fire Company are required to attend a minimum number of meetings per year, participate in fundraising events and work details. Annual dues are $10. New members are on a one-year probationary period.
