Are you interested in making a Difference and helping your Community? Then the Spring Brook Fire District # 1 is interested in you!

    The Spring Brook Fire District # 1 is a 100% volunteer non-profit organization that provides Fire, Rescue and First Aid protection 24 hrs a day, 365 days a year to the residents of the Spring Brook Fire District and town of Elma.

     The Spring Brook Fire Company is looking for committed men and woman age 18 and older to join our family that protects your family.

 

 

      To be a member of the Spring Brook Fire Co you must live in the boundaries of the Spring Brook Fire District or work in District 8 hrs a day. You must also pass an annual physical that is provided by the fire district. You must take a firefighting essentials class that is a mandatory New York State requirement.  All other classes are optional, including EMT, Fire Police, Rescue Technician, and Auto Extrication, just to name a few. All training is provided at no charge to you. 

 

Free Quality Training- Fire and First Aid training by County and State Certified instructors. Also in-house weekly drills.

 

Free Annual Physical- the Spring Brook Fire Dist. #1 will provide your physical and proper hepatitis B vaccine.

Becoming a member of Spring Brook is not all work. There are many benefits and they include:

Service Award- You can be enrolled in a Length of Service Award Program (LOSAP.) This program rewards our volunteers for years of service with a pension after 20 yrs of active duty with a maximum of $400.00 a month award at retirement age. Must meet minimum requirements.

Insurance- it goes with (LOSAP) you can have a $20,000 Death benefit, you must qualify in the (LOSAP.)

Equipment  You will receive your Fire gear, Radio and you will receive company uniforms.

Hall Rental- Members in good standing are allowed to use the recreation hall for their family functions, parties and weddings. 

Installation Dinner -An annual dinner for members and guests to celebrate newly elected officers and the accomplishments of the past year.

Social Events- Throughout the year there are a variety of opportunities for a member and a guest or family to get together with other members of our department in a relaxing atmosphere which includes our Christmas party, recreational activities, town events, conventions, and Erie County Fair where you have free admission on Firefighter's Day.
